TAP
After 36 years of teaching Kindergarten and PK for Arlington ISD Mimi retired in 2021.
In 2022 she joined the faculty at Miss Persis Studio of Dance in Arlington teaching the littlest dancers starting at age 3 to age 10/11.
In 2023 joined the faculty of Arts 5th Avenue teaching adults. She thinks adults are the best students and so much fun.
In 2024 her Tap teacher retired from teaching for the city of Fort Worth at the RD Evan’s Community Center and Mimi took over teaching there as well.
Along with teaching Tap at these 3 studios she also, since 1998, directs one of the handbell choirs at University Christian Church and is a reading specialist for The Reading Connection in Fort Worth.
Mimi grew up dancing tap, jazz and ballet on and off all of her life. She has studied with Bruce Lea, Dian Clough West, Larry Howard, Renee’ Boydstun, Texas Ballet Theater and Persis Ann Forster. She was an assistant to Renee’ Boydstun, her most recent Tap teacher, in teaching Tap at Dian West’s studio for several years, also subbing and teaching summer classes occasionally.
